Timed write on ‘I Have a Dream’ by Martin Luther King In martin Luther King’s speech “I Have a Dream” the intended audience is essentially the general public. The speech also focuses down into influencing the African Americans to fight for their right and to change the views of poverty of powerful leaders. Therefore, the purpose of this speech is to provide a better future for the generation of tomorrow and to enable freedom in the grounds of America. This is conveyed on the last page of the speech where MLK say’s ‘let freedom ring—from every hill and molehill of Mississippi, from every mountainside, let freedom ring!’ This sentence is also an anaphora as ‘let freedom ring’ is emphasised twice in that sentence. Additionally, this speech is trying to make all coloured skin people become one and equal, so that African Americans can still have hope in their living. Question 1: How could the text be read and interpreted differently by two different readers? When reading the article "for women under 30, most Births Occur Outside of Marriage", I was able to easily spot two different interpretations to the article, which these interpretations depend on the readers ideologies when reading the article. If the article was locked from a feminist ideology and the reader interpreted the text accordingly the purpose of the text would be to demonstrate how woman are working continuous hours to provide a suitable life for their child, thus are capable of taking care of children at such a young age without having the power of men over them.
