Their Eyes are Watching God is a novel that was written in 1936 by African-American writer Zora Neale Hurston . H urston through her novel wanted to prove that the purpose of reading this novel was for being self aware, the path of a true journey, self discovery and thus empathy people feel for one another. Janie is the main character in the novel where the reader sees her go through a tough life journey with many experiences and encounters involved.
